Dune's presentation

I'm really happy to can announce you the soon arrival of Cinnamon Girl Latte Macchioto of the Royal Club, called "Dune", a little smooth cinnamon female.

Not successing to have a puppy from Cajou, I wanted to take a female from the same family because I like very much this type. When I discovered that Mme BUURMAN (Kennel of the Royal Club) had a litter from Tyler (CH. Paramount Stylish Smooth), Cajou's daddy, and seen this little beard's bawl, I immediatly falled madly in love with her.

We will go to take her in Netherlands around the next 7th january !

The magic of Christmas

The magic of Christmas reside in the fact of, despite of ordeals and real blows, regain the smile during of the familial meeting and of the presents ;D

The postal present digested, Santa Claus was finally passed for the bear cubs bringing two presents for each other :

My sadest christmas

Results of HD for Cyrus

It's necessary to flashback ... the festivities not having give me a lot of time to inform you ... so, we have to flashback on the tuesday 23rd december, I come back from my job and I pass by the letterbox to see what is in ... when I open it and I see the envelop, I understand immediately what it is : the results of Cyrus' HD x-rays are arrived !!!!! My heart bounds in my chest. I take the envelop totally mad of joy as you receive a christmas present so expected ... and I run to the house ... it's the winter, the nigth is yet here, and I can't open it outside ... I blend my keys, and finally success to open the door ... I cross the chows-chows flock in quickly saluting Richard and yelling full of joy to him : "It's Cyrus HD results !!!" ... at this moment, I am really serene. Cyrus is my most active and sporty chow, he adores to run and jump ... a real young goat ... he lays down the both hind legs completely in extension ... really there is no risk that this dog is dysplasic .... oh no !!! not him !

And I open my envelop and search inside to find the letter of results ... and I skim through it but I don't find his result ... A, nothing ; B, nothing ... I look Richard worried ... He says to me : "It looks good, there are a lot of plus signs" with a big smile and I answer him : "it is not plus signs, it is crosses" and I continue : C, .... nothing ... no ... it's impossible ... D ... Cyrus is D ... I can't believe it ... I break down and cry ... I verify in the right column : international results - D ... it's totally impossible, not him !!!!

I am distraught at the news near the chimney, in front of the Christmas tree ... Cyrus comes and is so sweet with me ... jumping on me and licking my hands ... he looks so sheepish, as he understands.

So Cyrus is outcast from reproduction ... this so promising dog, so sweet temperament, will not have offspring ...

Review of the standard of the chows

Zheng He's kennel looks into the burning topical question :

The subject was since a time on the table, but now the directions become clear and probably in a hasty way.

The announced goal of this standard's reform is well and good from the fundations a will of preserve the health of our breed dogs and we cannot cast the first stone to the Kennel Club concerning this very laudably objective when we see the drifts which can be made of the interpretation that everyone can make of his own reading.

What is frightened the most the chowist in the planned modifications, is in particular :

- the delete in the paragraph CHARACTERISTIC, of the specificity " unique in its stilted gait",

- the modification in the paragraph HINDQUATERS, hindlegs, from " whith minimal angulation" to "with moderate angulation",
- in the paragraph GAIT/MOVEMENT the delete of the description "short and stilted" replace by "Relatively short stepping. Forelegs and hindlegs moving parallel to each other and straight forward. Dogs should always be able to move freely and soundly without any sign of distress."

The Kennel Club would make a link between the general ligaments problems of the chows and their hindlegs straight, and yet none scientific study demonstrates that this link exists. To the contrary, a study ask by some danish chowist to a spacialist proves that this link doesn't exist.

To loose the stilted gait and the minimal angulation of hindlegs would be to loose a part of the identity of our beloved Chow.

Creation of a blog

Kennel of Zheng He offers itself a blog ...

After offered itself a site : http://www.zheng-he.fr/ kennel of Zheng He offers itself a blog ... but why ? Simply because I think it is more practical to give news to our chow-chow friends about memorable events for our little family of hairies or not besides and then to share a little part of our daily life.

First, what do you have to understand by "kennel" of Zheng He ? It can appear as something of barbarian like this, so what is our reality ? Forget your first thing about some dogs being left to their own devices in muddy kennels in the end of a garden ... nothing of this at all here !

We are a familial kennel ... with a big family. There is me (I know that we don't have to start with ownself, but I have to start with someone :o)), Cindy AMOROSO, 27 years old, Notary's clerk, pacsed with Julie since the 4th november of this year ... so there is she too, 24 years old ... but it is not finished because we live in colocation : there are too Richard, 41 years old, Florian his son 18 years old and Morgane his daugther 15 years old ...

All this little group share my passion for the chows-chows and the daily life of the "bears".

The "bears" ... speak a little about them and their life ! We have currently four chows : Cajou, red smooth female of 4 years old imported from Netherlands ; Lyle, red rough male of 2 years old imported from Danemark, cryptorchid and so outcast of reproduction ; Cyrus, red rough male of 1 year and a half, our first frenchie (:o) but his father is himself imported from Norway and his mother from Belgium) and finally Coxie, black rough female of 1 year old, a pure frenchie ... The bears live together and it is a big chance that we appreciate a lot because it is not really easy with chow's temperament and particulary with members of the same sex .... but it allows to let them all together in the house and the garden. We have anticipated with some installations however, with two parks in our garage, where there are by couple only when we are absent in order to avoid fights.

I will try to come regularly to update the blog with events and anecdotes.
